The High-Precision Pressure Plate for Super 8 (Frame Master)
[ Description ]               [ The Beginning ]               [ Tested Cameras ]
Can easily be used with any standard Super 8 cartridge. Improves picture sharpness and
steadiness like a professional 16/35 mm in-camera film-gate pressure plate.
Description
Usually the built-in pressure plate in Super-8
(Kodak-)cartridges is a filigrane piece of plastic that isn't always able to adjust the problems of film transport and the filmstock itself. The result: the film will not perfectly "pressed" against the picture gate and the shots sometimes jitter or slide up or down.
The High-Precision Pressure Plate (Frame
Master) is protected by law
(202 04 191.3).
The new pressure plate has been developed over a long period and is now patented. Manufactured precisely in several stages and finally hard-chromed like the ones in professional 16 and/or 35mm cameras. The plate acts like an additional filmpath and prevents the filmstock from getting out of focus.

Please remind: The High-Precision Pressure Plate is not for use (and not needed) with Cinevia film stock in GK-Film-cartridges. However, you can also get your cinevia film stock in old Kodak-cartridges to keep on using your High-Precision Pressure Plate.

To summarize
• Constant optimum picture sharpness over the
whole picture area (in case of well-callibrated
   optics on your camera)
• Excellent picture steadiness in both running
   directions
• Film runs quieter through the cartridges
• Jitter-free high-speed shots at 36 fps, 54 fps
   and even 80 fps
• Scratches on the blank side of the film
(through the built-in plastic pressure plate)
can be eliminated. Important for a film trans-
   fer afterwards

Can be used for any Kodak Super 8 cartridge

'Upgrade' your Super-8 shots too! At the time
when you watch the excellent results on the
big screen the first impression of a 'high
priced' item is forgotten! You can use it over
and over again and with a little practice you
manage to put it in the cartridge in way less
than 2 minutes! Look at this manual (in PDF-
format).

The pressure plate can be used for the
Kodachrome K40 but is especially reliable
with the Ektachrome and negative stocks.
Of course the "FrameMaster" can't eliminate
optical or mechanical problems of your
camera! For those problems, we will try to
help you by our workshop-service.

Are there any downsides to this new device?
No, not that we would know of. With one
small exception: You have to remove the
device from a full cassette before sending
the cassette to the lab for development.
Otherwise you might end up not receiving
back your "little secret" with the developed
film - for obvious reasons.

 Improved picture sharpness

Beware of Imitations!
Forged, low-cost plates imitating our pre-
cision-made pressure plate are being offered
by different people in Germany and abroad.
Simple and unlicensed imitations (fakes) have
already destroyed a number of cameras.
(Moving pin, motor, film gate, and film da-
mages have occurred). The fakers pay no
heed to the high-accuracy machining and the
necessity of the tight fitting into the runner
plate with a precision of 1 thousandth of a

milimeter, nor do they observe the exact thickness of the plate. In addition, the chromeplating is far from high sliding quality (very important!). The fakers are simply leaving out everything
that makes the original plate expensive. So, any complaint regarding an imitation or camera damage
directed to us will be reported to the police.

Warranty provisions only apply to the original High-Precision Pressure Plate delivered by the inventor
or the manufacturer (Gottfried Klose GK - Film GmbH, in Bielefeld, Germany), which can be verified
looking at the GK (Copyright) stamp found on the middle of the rear side (see figure).

We offer you a little video demonstration of
the High-Precision Plate as a streaming-video.
The video shows examples of different film
stock using and not using the pressure plate.
